Marilyn Monroe Video Up For Auction
Tuesday, September 16th, 2008 by Esmerelda

In 1959 a US naval officer was invited to the set of Some Like It Hot
starring Marilyn Monroe and Tony Curtis. While he was there that day
he brought along his trusty 8mm and shot a 2.5 minute long video of Marilyn and
Tony on the set. Billy Wilder, the director, appears as well.
Evidently, he packed it away in it's original Kodak box and put it into a
drawer. Later he gave it to his daughter who lives in Australia. After he died
she made the decision to sell it.
So how much do they think it'll bring?
Well, Some Like It Hot is listed as the greatest American comedy of all
time. Also the actual movie is black and white and this home video is in
color. They're estimating that it'll go for between $20,000-$30,000 and the
buyer will receive full commercial rights.
