Valerie Bertinelli Reveals Marriage, Drug Troubles In Book

TV actress Valerie Anne Bertinelli, who starred in the series One Day At A Time as Barbara Jean Cooper, has dated Steven Spielberg and is divorced from her son's father (rocker Eddie Van Halen), was on Oprah this week promoting her new book, "Losing It:  And Gaining My Life Back One Pound At A Time."

The 47-year old mother, and Van Halen's ex-wife, told Oprah Winfrey on Monday's show, "I wasn't an angel, either.  I cheated, too...He claims to this day that I cheated first, but I don't know.  I don't know about the timing."

She also admitted to drug use and struggling with weight gain; Valerie Bertinelli is now a spokeswoman for Jenny Craig.

"It got to a point where whenever I heard the birds chirp, I'd be like, 'Oh, God, no,'" she said on Oprah.  "It took me years after stopping the cocaine before I was able to enjoy a sunrise and enjoy the sound of the birds."

The AP reports that Van Halen's publicist had no comment on her book, and no interviews to promote it.
