Is US Aid To Israel Hurting Gaza?

There is no country nor territory that receives more military aid from the United States
than Israel. And the amount of monetary support is increasing: nearly $3 billion
is allocated in the 2010 budget.
Gaza is a city in the Gaza Strip, south of Jerusalem,
and the largest city controlled by the Palestinian National Authority. They have been under blockade by
Egypt and Israel since June of 2007, meaning perishable goods and basic supplies are being blocked
by sanctions (Mercy Corps attempted to deliver boxed and canned food and was turned away).
Although the blockade
was "officially" lifted by Israel, it didn't cease: Israel is allowing some humanitarian aide but
is continuing its economic blockage in an effort to weaken the power of Hamas, who took over the city in 2007
after conflicts with Fatah.
 In the interest of
Jews, Israelis, Palestinian civilians, and American taxpayers, we have a right to demand that Congress investigate
the full path of our aide, the violations and abuses against civilians in Gaza and whether or not Israel is complying
with the provisions of the US Arms Export Control Act.
Contact Congress here (you
can copy, paste, and edit if you'd like, what we've written above), or utilize the petition here at
WithStringsAttached.org. Ask for an answer, and let us know if you
get a response from your Rep!
