Alaska Report Finds Palin Guilty On Abuse Of Power
Saturday, October 11th, 2008 by Connie T.

Yesterday the Alaska Legislative Council - primarily Republican - released their
investigative report into whether or not Governor Sarah Palin abused her power as governor
and violated the state's Ethics Act by pressuring Public Safety Commissioner Walt Monegan to fire her
ex-brother-in-law, state trooper Mike Wooten.
Their conclusion? Palin did in fact abuse
her power in pressuring Monegan. She also permitted her husband, Todd, to "use the
Governor's office and the resources of the Governor's office, including access to state employees,
to continue to contact subordinate state employees in an effort to find some way to get Trooper Wooten
fired," according to the Branchflower report.
The Legislative Council did not, however, recommend
a criminal investigation. John McCain's campaign spokespeople dismissed the investigation as "politically
motivated." Sarah Palin and her husband both had the opportunity to testify on their own
behalf, and were subpoenaed to do so, but stopped cooperating once it was announced that Palin was
McCain's VP running mate.
