Los
Angeles And PETCO
Make Spay Day And
Microchipping Free
Thursday,
February 21st, 2008

As if there weren't enough reasons to already, here is yet another
thing that makes us want to move to L.A. We reported last week that
Councilmember Richard Alarcón introduced the largest spay/neuter
ordinance in the nation, which was unanimously approved by the Public
Safety Committee. And now, the LA Department of Animal
Services, the Office of Mayor Antonio
Villaraigosa, the Office of Richard Alarcon, the
Amanda Foundation, and PETCO have all
teamed up to offer you a gift: FREE spaying, neutering,
vaccinations, and microchipping for your pet(s).
How amazing is
this?

In honor of National Spay Day, and in conjunction with the Mayor
signing the aforementioned Spay/Neuter ordinance, Spay Day LA will
give FREE spays, FREE neuters, FREE vaccinations, and FREE microchips
(for if your furry friend ever gets lost), at an event that will be
attended by former Price is Right host Bob
Barker, and the President of the Humane Society
(HSUS).
These are
all people we want to hug. And we also feel like flying to
L.A. to get our kitties microchipped...why must Cali be so far away from
Ohio?
The good news, though, is that if you are not in the L.A.
area, there are also other Spay Day events around the country, just go here to the HSUS and enter your zip code to see how
close an event will be to you.
If you will be in California for
Spay Day, make sure to call the Amanda Foundation at
888-349-7388 to book your free spay/neuter, vaccination(s),
and/or microchipping today! It is all free of charge but they need
to know what the turnout will be in advance for proper staffing, so please
register ASAP!
If you have any additional questions about this
event, please contact us and we will forward your questions to the
appropriate people right away.
