Shanna Moakler Tells Off The Media
Friday, January 25th, 2008

We just read something that will probably stick with us all day, and it was from someone we least expected it from:  Shanna Moakler.  Moakler - a Rhode Island native who appeared in Playboy, was a Dancing With The Stars diva, and starred in MTV's Meet The Barkers reality show with husband Travis Barker - is not someone that shows up often in the news.

Which doesn't mean she shouldn't.

After many celebrity gossip bloggers, including Perez Hilton, got to speculating about the state of her marriage recently, Shanna had enough.  She took to her official blog  - today - and posted an entry that summed up today's height of trashy news in the media; a beautifully tragic blog that went from naked truths of what sells, to a dedication to Eleanor Roosevelt.

"A woman is like a teabag," Moakler wrote.  "Only in hot water do you realize how strong she is...I am VERY far from where I would like to be in my career."

"I'm from a small town in the smallest state.  I've started working as a teen model and lived in every city and beat the streets in every town, taking ever audition; I modeled, I did pageants, I took every meeting I could, I've been rejected 1000 times and I never gave up...I took every one-liner, bit part I could.

"I didn't have my daddy's name or some Hollywood connection, I worked my ass off, and no, I may not be in the A-list, but I have drive and conviction and ambition...and I won't ever stop trying to be involved in projects that I enjoy and [getting] the opportunities that allow me to show what it is I strive to do."

The whole entry - just a few paragraphs long - will fully blow you away.

Come back here and discuss!

UPDATE:  The beautiful and talented Shanna Moakler just contacted us regarding the article above.  She said:

"thank you connie, that was very refreshing and i thank you for supporting me. it means a great deal, the response to this blog has been overwhelming and im a little floored at the moment. its nice to know people can relate and feel the same way. just when you think you're alone, you realize you're not..and thats a very comforting feeling...sorry for all the poor spelling, im writing this so fast! my kids just got here!
