Memorial, Services Remember September 11th
Thursday, September 11th, 2008 by Connie T.

As family and friends gathered to remember those we lost seven years ago today in the tragedy of
September 11th, 2001, builders revealed the design for a new entrance pavilion at the 9/11 memorial.
The memorial is expected to be open by September 2011, the 10th anniversary.
Craig Dykers is the
architect creating a steel design to resemble the Twin Towers; it will lead to a staircase that
goes down into the September 11th museum.
There were readings in a Manhattan park this morning
as well as the recitation of the 2,751 victims' names. Moments of silence were held at 8:46 am,
9:03 am, 9:59 am, and 10:29 am, the times when the hijacked planes hit the World Trade Center buildings.
