Now We're Going To Have To Read Scott McClellan's Book
Wednesday, May 28th, 2008

Anyone who's seen Frontline's documentary "Bush's War"
(I know, I know, we still need to review Part 2 of that!) wouldn't be very surprised
by this book. However, that doesn't make it any less of a must-read! Scott
McClellan, a former White House press secretary under the President George W.
Bush administration, has released a memoir, in which he reveals that the American
public was manipulated by political propaganda leading up to the invasion of Iraq.
The memoir is called "What Happened: Inside the Bush White House and
Washington's Culture of Deception" (available for just $15.37 & up on Amazon).
Many considered McClellan to be a loyal friend to President Bush, but with
this new book, that's hardly a possibility any longer. The book blames the media
for not fully examining and relaying the administration's reasoning for the Iraq
War; it also accuses Bush of being strict with the administration about what
"script" could and couldn't be given to the public for selling the War.
White House spokeswoman Dana Perino released a statement today, saying,
"Scott, we now know, is disgruntled about his experience at the White House. Those
of us who fully supported him - before, during, and after he was press secretary -
we are puzzled. It is sad; this is not the Scott we knew."
Last time we
checked, gaining a conscience wasn't "sad"--and we're so buying the book!
As if we didn't have enough to read...we're still working on Ron Paul's first
book, and have his latest one waiting in the wings...
