Oh, Rosie O! Sometimes,
Rosie O'Donnell says things we strongly disagree
with. Yet other times, many times, it's like hearing ourselves
talk. Rosie posted a "Talky Blog" yesterday in which she
mentioned the whole Miley Cyrus cover photo for Vanity Fair
that made news articles every which way from Sunday. Now,
yesterday we posted an article on Hilary Duff and started it
out with, "We're going to skip the whole Miley Cyrus / Vanity
Fair...drama today."
Why didn't we want to go there?
One, Miley Cyrus is 15 years old. Was the photo appropriate,
inappropriate for her age - however that photo turned out, we can't
imagine that Miley instructed the famous photographer (Annie
Leibovitz) to do anything. Two, there have been
apologies all around: Miley Cyrus apologized, Annie Leibovitz
apologized, the whole thing has just become a controversy blown out of
proportion and basically millions of free advertisements for Vanity
Fair.
"Leave Miley Cyrus alone," Rosie said on yesterday's blog. "Disney making
her apologize...Listen, Annie Leibovitz, I had two photo shoots with
her. You kind of do what she says. It's intimidating. I
also didn't think it was a pornographic photo in any capacity. I
thought it was sort of a beautiful portrait...I like the one of her and
her dad, too. I don't know. It's Annie Leibovitz,
people."
In a poll on her site, Rosie asked readers "do u care
about this photo?" Out of almost 11,000 votes, 80% of people
voted "No."
