This is a double-smear
campaign! The media, namely TV personality and Dancing
With The Stars reject Tucker Carlson, actually arranged a smear
campaign against Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul. Tucker
Carlson phoned a brothel owner friend of his named Dennis Hof, in Nevada,
and asked him to check out Ron Paul while Paul was in Nevada. He
then proceeded to bring Hof and two of Hof's prostitutes to a
Reno news conference, and put out the story that Ron Paul is endorsed by a
Nevada brothel owner.
The move took the Ron Paul campaign by
surprise, who allowed Hof to be interviewed by the media present at Paul's
news conference.
The story was then picked up by
the Associated Press, who published an article entitled, "Paul
Endorsed by Nevada Brothel Owner," and opened the article with,
"Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul, an underdog Texas congressman
with a libertarian streak, has picked up an endorsement from a Nevada
brothel owner."
Nice twist! Notice
how they throw in "underdog," and "libertarian streak" into the opening
sentence - it is a thinly veiled attempt to subconsciously discredit Paul
in the eyes of the reader. Followed up with, "has picked up an
endorsement," which makes you think that Paul solicited the endorsement,
when in fact he was set up.
For the full scandolous
story, check out this great
catch at the National Expositor, and the original article by the Associated
Press.
Hmmm...they wouldn't be smearing Paul if they weren't
concerned about him, now would they?
