Interesting Facts About Presidential Candidate Ron Paul
Thursday, January 17th, 2008

I know, I know, our veteran readers are going to tell us we post too much about Ron Paul.  But we post what YOU want to read about, and stats don't lie:  our articles on Ron Paul have consistently been the top viewed stories (by far) on the site since the presidential race began.

We're guessing this is because the mainstream media has largely ignored Ron Paul, and we're one of the few who is covering him as consistently as the "frontrunner" candidates.  Well, that's fine by us:  that's why we say, "If THEY won't tell you, SHE will!"

So, for inquiring minds, we've compiled some interesting facts and photos about Ron Paul, the person.  Come on, you know you want to see the vintage photos:

Although he often called a Texan and has represented Texas districts, Ron Paul is originally from Green Tree, Pennsylvania, a suburb of Pittsburgh with about 4,500 people.  Green Tree is also the birthplace of Heroes actor Zachary Quinto.

Paul graduated from Duke University School of Medicine in 1961.

Ron Paul led the Texas Delegation to nominate Ronald Reagan for President in 1976.

Ron actually ran for President of the United States before.  He was third place in the 1988 presidential election for his party.

Ron and his wife Carol Paul have been married for fifty years.  They met at Dormont High School where Paul was a track star.  He proposed the summer after junior year in college, and they had about 300 guests at their wedding.  They have five children.

Paul was inspired by the monetary crisis in '74 when Vietnam War funding and fast-moving inflation were hurting the economy.

Ron Paul favors a non-interventionist foreign policy, and voted against the Iraq War, but is in favor of force against the terrorists in Afghanistan.  Kind of makes sense, huh?
