Ron Paul Campaign
Update Of The Week
Wednesday,
February 20th, 2008

Republican presidential candidate Ron
Paul's campaign had a video update at 9 pm EST on Tuesday night,
and Campaign Manager Lew Moore and National Field
Director Debbie Hopper provided updates on where Ron
Paul's campaign stands and where they're going from here. Of course,
if you were depending on the mainstream media to give you any of this
information, you'd be hard-pressed to find it--across the board, the media
has been saying nothing of Paul these past few weeks; and rarely reserving
a peep for Mike Huckabee, either.
Well, we've got
the scoop for you.
"Dr. Paul mentioned the possibility of doing
a rally in Washington, D.C," Lew Moore said last
night. "We're working on this right now, we're looking at different
alternatives--we think it's very important at a few junctures in the next
few months that people in our movement are able to get together in
different parts of the country...so stay tuned, we're going to have more
information on that for you very soon."
"A lot of folks have asked
about a write-in campaign - are we organizing a write-in
campaign? Should people write in Dr. Paul on a general election
ballot, or support [another] Republican nominee?," Moore read,
regarding what Paul supporters should do if Ron Paul did not make the
Republican nomination.
"Well, you are perfectly free to
write in Dr. Paul on any ballot that's in front of you.
We're not organizing an effort to do that, but if you determine that the
Republican nominee is not someone you want to vote or come November, no
one here is going to be upset if you write in Dr. Paul's name if
that, in good conscience, is what you feel you should
do."
Have you ever heard anyone else's campaign refer to
your conscience?
Ron Paul supporters have created various websites
in support of a writein campaign should Paul come up short on Republican
delegates - we've suggested writing him in if it comes to that point as
well.
Both Lew Moore and field Director Debbie Hopper mentioned
that even if your state has already had its primaries, there are often
county caucus processes still going on that supporters can be
involved in, as well as canvassing to neighboring states and counties by
phone or in person, which can make a significant impact on the
campaign.
"The only thing that matters is the delegates," Moore
said. "And one thing has been very encouraging...our people did a
great job in all of these states and sticking with the process and saying,
'I want to be a delegate.'"
"We're going to
surprise people. And there's good things that are going to come of
it."

In
other Ron Paul-related news, we know you'll be sad to hear that Hotties For
Ron Paul, a website that created a pinup calendar of female
teachers, writers, models, artists, and students that support Ron Paul, is
all sold out of pinup calendars.
Hotties4RonPaul.com is an independent organization not
affiliated with the official Ron Paul Campaign, but who drummed up support
for the Congressman through sexy supporters like February's Hottie -
Krista Allee DiPaola, below - a special education teacher
from Detroit, Michigan, who did the Valentine month's spread.

Considering they've sold out, we're assuming it
was successful, but have contacted the organizer for specifics.
