Reckless...dishonest...a Make-Believe Maverick. These are just a few of
the terms Rolling
Stone has used to describe Senator John McCain in their latest cover story - and
that was just in the opening title.
Among their stunning accusations, Rolling Stone claims
that McCain, as a married father of three, traveled to the Middle East with military and political
leaders because he had "a better chance of getting laid" there.
A former GOP Senator
and colleague of McCain's explains the Senator's flip-flopping on various major issues as being
a result of John making "a pact with the devil." In the 10-page article, writer Tim Dickinson
paints the picture of a drinker with a violent temper; a man who broke the POW code and told his
torturers in North Vietnam that his father was a Navy admiral and anything else they wanted
to know; who left the Navy for high-flying CEO's, donors, and lobbyists; who allowed taxpayers
to be on the hook for $3.4 billion for a bank's failure way back in the late '80's (deja vu, anyone?);
who happily accepted $2.6 million from the CEO's he called "fat cats" and special interests.
It's quite the read...full
story here.
