R. Kelly is publicist-less. Say that five times fast! Regina Daniels,
the Chicago P.R. & marketing agent for F&B singer R. Kelly
resigned last week, over some sort of drama that she won't disclose.
"I have always prided
myself on professionalism, respect and loyalty," said Regina. "I
ended my relationship with Kelly because there are some lines you just
don't cross...I have also disassociated myself from Kelly."
Daniels was R. Kelly's
publicist for 14
years. This must be some serious shiz. But,
being a publicist and a professional, Daniels isn't likely to let anyone
know what that breach of trust was.
R. Kelly reportedly also broke ties recently
with singer and songwriter Ne-Yo, who was supposed to open Kelly's tour
last week. Paris Johnson, a 21-year old from East Baltimore, told
the Baltimore Sun, "R. Kelly kicked him off the show. He's cocky
like that. That's how he is."
Meanwhile, Kelly's court case for child pornography
is taking far longer than drying paint. He was initally charge 2002, and here were are creeping up on
2008. He had a trail date in September that was postponed and has
not yet been rescheduled.
"Is R. Kelly the luckiest man in showbiz, or does
it just seem that way?" Entertainment
Weekly wrote in September. "Since the 40-year-old
R&B star was arrested on child pornography charges, he's been on a
professional hot streak with seven top-selling albums, two national
tours, and the exceedingly lonny but beloved R&B hip-hop operetta
'Trapped in the Closet.'"
Um, yeah. I
sense a new Celebrity Justice petition coming on...
