Ringo
Starr Protests Regis And
Kelly
Wednesday, January

It may not be the '60's anymore,
but former Beatle Ringo
Starr
hasn't lost any of his protest. Starr
had a scheduled appearance on the Regis & Kelly Show for yesterday,
but after finding out the producer wanted his song "Liverpool 8" cut down
to under three minutes, Ringo refused to go on.
Ringo's publicist,
Elizabeth Freund, told The Associated Press that she attempted to
negotiate a shorter version of the song, but when the producer wouldn't
budge beyond 2 1/2 minutes (the full song is 4 minutes and 15 seconds
long), Ringo said uh-uh.
"We offered to cut back our chat time and
asked them to fade or go to commercial. They were not willing to do
that and Ringo was not willing to cut it further, so without a compromise
we were not able to stay," Freund's statement to the AP said.
And just like that, they all walked
off! Which is bad news for animal lovers, because furgly fashion designer Michael Kors got to stay on
longer to fill in Ringo's slot.
Still, we love a protest...and
never diss a Beatle!
David Letterman had Ringo on last
night, and guess how long he let Ringo perform?
Four minutes and 53 seconds
.
Wait!
There's more!
