Dan Abrams Is Out, Rachel Maddow Is In
Wednesday, August 20th, 2008 by Connie T.

It's about damn time, that's all I have to say. Not that I had a problem
with Dan Abrams, the one who's getting replaced - I don't think I ever watched him - but
it's nice to see that a network has finally given a female political commentator her own show. There
are certainly more than enough male pundits with their own programs out there.
I also notice
that the political bloggers who are male tend to garner the most interest as well...another thing
that is most irksome.
Rachel Maddow is officially claiming MSNBC's 9 pm
timeslot (formerly held by Abrams' "Verdict") beginning September 8th. I don't know anything about
Maddow besides what I've read on her wikipedia page, so we'll see. Unfortunately it's looking
like she'll be at least partially covering the Olympics,
so I guess I can't have it all.
