Hey, Ohioans: How To Do Your Part To Stop Puppy Mills
Friday,
May 30th, 2008

In Ohio? Love animals? Looking for something to do? Here are some very
worthwhile events going on soon across Ohio, to benefit animal protection and even help
put a stop to puppy mills in our area. Thanks to Mary O'Connor-Shaver with columbustopdogs.com for
sending this in.
Second Chances Dalmation Rescue (SCDR) will be hosting an annual
golf tournament at Bent Tree Golf Club in Sunbury, Ohio on Saturday, May 31st. It's not too
late to get in, just visit gotspots.org!
The Pet Expo in Bexley, Ohio will be held on Monday, June 2nd, and will be a free
networking experience with multiple hosts specializing in animal training and pet adoption.
Just e-mail maryb@damesbond.com for more info.
Tips for Pups is on Thursday, June 5th, at
the Rude Dog Bar and Grill - Polaris & Sancus. All tips collected will benefit the Alum Creek
Dog Park, built and maintained by volunteers. For more information, contact Kelly Jones at
kelly.jones@hfitcenter.com.
The Second Annual PUP-A-PALOOZA is on Saturday, June 7,
2008 at Alum Creek Dog Park - OH. All proceeds will benefit the Alum Creek Dog Park, built and
maintained by volunteers. Featuring live music, give-a-ways, vendor booth and more! For more
information, just contact Kelly Jones at kelly.jones@hfitcenter.com.
The Fifth Annual
Par for Pets Golf Outing is on Saturday, June 14, 2008 at the Oakhaven Golf Club in Delaware,
OH. This event is a major fundraiser for CHA Animal Shelter to benefit the rescue,
rehabilitation and rehoming of the hundreds of homeless cats and dogs rescued annually by
CHA. CHA is a non-profit animal shelter dedicated to finding permanent homes for homeless
cats and dogs in Franklin County. For registration, sponsorships and details about the event
visit CHA's website at chaanimalshelter.org
or contact Gail Haugh at kidsncanines@insight.rr.com.
Dog Bone-anza 2008 is on Saturday,
June 21st at the Bark Til Dark Dog Park in Delaware, OH. The Bone-anza grew from 2006-2007,
so we hope for an even better turn out this year! They've changed and added some events
(The Least Obedient Dog Contest should be fun!) that I think will include all dogs, whether
they are talented or just plain cute. All proceeds will be donated to CHA Animal Shelter. For
more information, contact Missi Hamilton at MISTYFLI@aol.com.
