Where We Go From Ron Paul
Thursday, June 19th,
2008

So, a ton of you have been asking us what we're going to do now
that Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul has dropped out of the
presidential race. As you may know, ConnieTalk has been an avid supporter of
Paul's campaign over the last 17 months, and we were devastated to hear over
our vacation that Paul officially dropped his bid for the Republican candidacy.
Indeed, in a touching post on his website last week, Paul wrote that he
decided to end his campaign for the Presidency, urging voters to "take the
energy [the] campaign has awakened and channel it into long-term efforts to
take back our country." Dr. Paul promised to "move the revolution forward"
with new plans forming over the next few months, and closed with the statement,
"I will work until my last breath on behalf of this great message."
In
our humble opinion, Ron Paul is one of the wisest, most articulate and astute,
and truly genuine politicians and speakers of our time. We're still working on
his first book, "A Foreign Policy Of Freedom," and have "Revolution: A Manifesto" waiting next on the
shelf.
We will be keeping up on Ron Paul news, so rest assured that that
will not change. We also find it a smart move for Paul to have released this bit
after all of the primaries - this announcement probably received the most press
coverage for Paul since his supporters' December moneybomb record (blatantly
unfair? Yes).
Anyhow,
as far as voting goes...we weren't trying to ignore any of you, we just honestly
don't know where we go from here. The way I see it, I have four options still
in consideration:
1. Write in Ron Paul in the General Election.
2. Learn more about Bob Barr, the former Republican Congressman from Georgia
whom Paul "pseudo-endorsed."
3. Vote for Democratic candidate Barack Obama.
4. Not vote at all.
But since I'm of the firm opinion that anything's better than
John McCain, it will probably be one of the first 3. And I'm up for justified opinions!
