PETA
Goes
After The Olsen Twins
Hardcore
Friday, December 14th, 2007

PETA's had it with former Full
House stars Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen, and on Monday they
launched an anti-Olsen campaign on a subsite called "Meet The
Trollsen Twins: Dress Up The Trollsens." The site,
Peta2.com, has an interactive online game of sorts, where you can dress
up Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen cartoon dolls, who have odd body marks,
and are featured stick-thin standing in a wardrobe full of - bloody -
fur clothes.
The site has everything from Trollsen MySpace
banners to Avatars, Buddy Icons, and other site animations.
They're selling exclusive "Trollsen" merchandise, and hosting a petition
to the Olsen's on their MySpace page.

When I first glanced at this, I thought Ashley's
fingers (right) were her ribs!

"Some say that Hairy-Kate and Trashley are guilty of offending their
fans with some major fashion boo-boos," peta2 said, "But here at
peta2, we think that's the understatement of the year! The twins'
heartless decision to wear fur and include it in their new
fasion line, The Row (more like "Death Row") is worse than a fashion
no-no - it's cruelty to animals. The Trollsens have ignored
our pleas to stop wearing fur - and have since added horribly
ugly fur items to their new clothing line."
Although both
girls have been known to wear fur (often), Ashley Olsen
apparently does it more frequently, because she scored #2 on PETA's
Worst Dressed List of 2006. (#1 is
Nicole Ritchie; #3 was Christina Ricci, but she has
since had a change of heart after watching Martha Stewart renounce fur;
#4 is Eva Longoria.)
Of course, I am avidly anti-fur
myself, and I see no harm in this site at all, I think it's
amusing. But it also spreads the word that people are passionate
about protecting the animals that are injured, abused, and killed
on fur farms. They're expressing
their opinion creatively and I love it.
So of course, I had to
dress up an Olsen:

I do, as I've previously mentioned,
have a love/hate relationship with PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment Of
Animals). This one is: love it! What do you think?
Not enough, Just Enough, or Over The Top?
