I think PETA is a great
organization and they've done some clever marketing campaigns lately. I mean, the I'd
Rather Go Naked Than Wear Fur campaign was brilliant marketing. Even getting Pam
Anderson involved was a good move. They get tons of great press and a lot of people
respond positively to it. But I think they've crossed the line this time.
NBC
is reporting that PETA sent a letter to Ben and Jerry's founders Ben Cohen and
Jerry Greenfield. They're asking that 75% of the cow's milk in their world famous ice
cream be replaced by human breast milk. PETA officials believe this will lessen the
suffering of dairy cows and make us all healthier. While Ben and Jerry's appreciated
the thought that went into the request they have declined to make the switch.
I'm
sorry but I think that's going too far. I truly want PETA to be a success but how can they
expect people to take them seriously when they do something like this? Come on guys, you've
been doing a great job of marketing your cause lately, let's get back on track okay?
