Obama Put On The Spot By PETA

Barack Obama was recently not only put on the spot not only by his
kids but by PETA as well. Evidently
he promised his kids a dog because he's been gone so much lately and PETA got wind
of it.
PETA President Ingrid Newkirk has allegedly sent a letter
to Senator Obama encouraging him to get a pet from the shelter instead of a
purebred animal.
Her reasoning is that a purebred would sent the wrong
message. That this country is a melting pot and his purchase of a purebred animal
would make him an elitist.
Word is he's considering her request. I'm
wondering how he'll respond if the UKC, AKC, etc. start lobbying for him to
purchase a purebred. The issue is probably already being worked on by his political
analysts. John McCain has avoided the whole mess because he has two dogs. One
is a mutt and the other is purebred.
Next thing you know the poor man will
order a hamburger instead of a cheeseburger and the dairy farmers will be writing
him letters.
