Perez
Hilton
Buys Designer Pup, Then Speaks
Out
About Puppy Mills?
Sunday, April 27th,
2008
Don't expect blogger Perez
Hilton to practice what he preaches. Perhaps in an attempt
to counteract the typical venom he selectively spews at Hollywood
F-listers, Perez has created a relatively new section on his "Hollywood's
Most Hated" blog dedicated to "Inspiration." In a recent post, he lists the Humane Society of the United States
(HSUS)'s very worthy campaign to stop Puppy Mills. I'm sure it is
pure coincidence that it's the same month Oprah Winfrey spoke out about
it.
Now, you know that stopping the cruelty of puppy mills and
overzealous cat and dog breeders has long been a cause of ours at
ConnieTalk. And we find it sad that Perez is taking credit for
supporting this cause when it was only six months ago that he was
openly bragging about buying a "Grade A" Goldendoodle puppy
from a dog breeding kennel.
He'd said he found the pup by
searching "small," "cute" and "smart" on Google. Many of his
commenters to the post had as sharp a memory on this as we
did:
Which is pretty hilarious considering YOU, mr hilton,
didn't adopt your dog, g said.
Ya and
where did you get your pup, a**face? lynn

Perez, it seems like you should heed your own advice;
your own precious Teddy, being a "designer breed," is most likely a puppy
mill product. You paid a pretty penny for a mutt when you could've
saved a life by adopting from a shelter, Mary

I agree that puppy mills are horrible. BUT.
Didn't YOU get your dog from a breeder? SHAME ON YOU! ADOPT
FROM A SHELTER. DON'T BUY FROM BREEDERS!

I guess this is your way of
being a humanitarian, at least in your mind...The Humane Society is a good
cause, a better cause would be if you actually did what you print -
[isn't] your dog from a puppy mill? To support the Humane Society in
stopping puppy mills would be adopting a dog/puppy from a pound,

 1. Puppy mills are a serious problem.
2.
Stray pets and pet overpopulation are also very serious
issues that can only be addressed by knowing the facts, and deciding not
to add to the statistics.
