No People's Choice Awards
This Year
Wednesday,
December 19th, 2007

Last year, Jennifer Aniston won Favorite Female
Television Performer,
and Drew Carey won Favorite Male Television
Performer.
Dammit! After we spent all that time typing
up the People's Choice Awards nominees for you, the show is
cancelled. Extra reported on their website today, "Extra has just learned
that the People's Choice Awards ceremony has been canceled. Plans to
televise some form of the show on CBS...is scheduled but no press is
allowed and no red carpet." No further info is available at this
time. Extra reported that it would air January 8th, as was
previously planned; on CBS's website, however, they have
made a change: a form of the awards will air Sunday,
January 13th at 9 pm ET instead. Oh brother, all Extra cares about is the red carpet portion,
anyhow, I'm sure!
This is, of course, due to the writers' strike...which may affect the
Golden Globes, as well.
Jamie Foxx, The Rock, and Joaquin Phoenix are
competing for the Favorite Leading Man in 2007. Jessica Alba and
Johnny Depp each got two noms - she for Leading Lady and Female Action
star, and he for Male Movie Star and Male Action Star.
The Bourne Identity movie got
nominations for Favorite Movie (competing against Pirates of the
Caribbean: At World's End, and Transformers), Favorite
Action Movie (up against 300, and Transformers), and
Favorite Threequel (versus Pirates of the Caribbean 3 again, and
Spider-Man 3).
