The foundation that was sponsoring Paris Hilton's upcoming trip to
Rwanda cancelled through a statement to the press yesterday from the
leaders of "Playing For Good."
"Due to the restructuring of the Playing for Good Foundation, the
philanthropic trip to Rwanda that the foundation had previously planned
with Paris Hilton has been postponed," the statement read.
"Paris has been a loyal and gracious supporter of Playing For Good
but the foundation has to regrettably reschedule this trip.
Playing For Good would like to thank Ms. Hilton for her generosity and
her continued support of this initiative and is looking forward to
rescheduling the trip with her at a later time."
How much did she pay them to say that? If I was a
gambling woman - and I am - I'd bet girlfriend backed out.
Maybe she found out about Brad Pitt dissing her in Detail's October
magazine. Right after Paris went gushing about what a great
humanitarian Jolie is, Pitt spilled his thoughts about Hilton, and they
weren't so nice back.
"This Paris Hilton quest for fame...she's blissfully oblivious," is
what Brad said. We hadn't seen television for...like a
month. And we just got back to the States. And we turned on
CNN. And on comes Paris Hilton, going to jail. And so we
just turned it off again."
So then Paris was all: screw this humanitarian crap.
The sad part is I remember all of these back-and-forth comments
("what Celebrity A said about Celebrity B," as Rosie O'Donnell says in
Celebrity Detox - go buy it!), because
Paris gets so much motherfreaking press coverage.
Personally, I wish she would sod off, but everybody likes Hilton
Hotels, so until all of the monopolies turn inside out - if ever - we
will have to see her and hear about her.
So, they look forward to rescheduling the trip "with her?" As
in, when Paris says so? Who's running what here?
Am I Paris-bashing? Sorry, make this an editorial then.
