Iran is Cooperating:  Will it Stop the Bush Admin.?
Friday, November 16th, 2007

The International Atomic Energy Agency, an international nuclear agency, says that Iran is cooperating.  In a report released yesterday, the IAEA said, "Iran has provided sufficient access to individuals and has responded in a timely manner to questions and provided clarifications and amplifications on issues raised in context of the work plan.

"However," the report continues, "its cooperation has been reactive rather than proactive.  As previously stated, Iran's active cooperation and full transparency are indispensable for full and prompt implementation of the work plan."

Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, the President of Iran

"In addition, Iran needs to continue to build confidence about the scope and nature of its present programme.  Confidence in the exclusively peaceful nature of Iran's nuclear program requires that the Agency be able to provide assurances not only regarding decalred nuclear material, but, equally importantly, regarding the absence of undeclared nuclear material and activities in Iran.

"Although the Agency has no concrete information, other than that addressed through the work plan, about possible current undeclared nuclear material and activies in Iran, the Agency is nto in a position to provide credible assurances about the absence of undeclared nuclear material and activities in Iran without full implementation of Additional Protocol.

"This is especially important in the light of Iran's undeclared activities for almost two decades and the need to restore confidence in the exclusively peaceful nature of its nuclear program.

Therefore, the Director General again urges Iran to implement the Additional Protocol at the earliest possible date.  The Director General also urges Iran to implement all the confidence building measures required by the Security Council, including suspension of all enrichment related activities."

The ISIS, the Insitute for Science and International Security (a non-profit, non-partisan institution in Washington, D.C.), has the entire PDF report from the IAEA, which can be viewed here.

The report states that the probe of Tehran's once-hidden nuclear activity would continue.  The Bush administration says the report will not prevent them from seeking a third, more thorough set of sanctions at the United Nations Security Council.

Our Website Hacking Experience:  And Why GoDaddy Sucked
Friday, November 16th, 2007

Anyone that visits us semi-regularly knows that we hacked on Tuesday, November 6th.  Here's the inside scoop.

I was online that morning, at 1:38 am, and I was working to upload new articles, I began seeing things disappear from my FTP (the folder on the server that holds all of our files).  It was being wiped out very quickly.

How could this have happened, I wondered?  GoDaddy.com, my hosting company, recommends that you choose a password for your website that is 7-14 characters, a combination of letters and numbers, with a variation of capital and lowercase letters.  I did have that.  I never once thought about the security of my site - never thought anyone would be malicious enough to delete information on how to contact your political representatives, alternative health methods, where to find breast cancer info, tributes to Veterans, ways to stop animal abuse, civil rights petitions, news and advice on important issues from A to Z.

Never underestimate the true dark character of some people in this world.

As soon as I saw the items being deleted, I got on the phone with GoDaddy.  I quickly explained what was happening, and the representative I spoke with could see it being wiped out on his end as well - he marked it a security issue, which he said waived the $150 "data restore" fee, since he saw it with his own eyes and was unable to stop it from happening.

We went in and changed the hosting password right away, but it takes time for that change to set in, and it didn't happen fast enough - I lost absolutely everything.

The rep was very kind, and told me that the data would be restored to what was on my site the previous day - Monday - within 24 to 72 hours.  Four days later, nothing was restored yet, so I called them.

John Travolta Sucks Face With Kirk Douglas
Friday, November 16th, 2007

At the Santa Barbara Film Festival yesterday, being honored and such, John Travolta planted a kiss on Kirk Douglas - right on the lips.  Look at Kirk's face, it's hilarious!  Kirk, 90, had his eyes wide opened and looked terrified.

This isn't the first time Travolta, 53, has tried to suck face with a dude...he was caught kissing his male nanny on the lips last year:

Just look at that stretch!

John Travolta has dodged sexuality questions over the years, actually - and he married fellow Scientologist Kelly Preston shortly after the National Enquirer ran a story about a supposed two-year affair between Travolta and a male porn star.

You know, I remember reading an article recently about how Kelly and John slept in different rooms at a hotel, and Kelly joked to a fellow guest that it's because of John's snoring.  Hmmm...

It's a slow news day when I'm talking about this.

Not Kidding You:  Immigrant Tasered to Death by Canadian Police
Friday, November 16th, 2007

Shocking:

Video footage has been released in Canada showing the last moments of an immigrant who died after being stunned with a Taser by police.

Robert Dziekanski, 40, of Pieszyce, Poland, was restrained by police after becoming agitated at Vancouver International Airport on 14 October.

Mr Dziekanski, who spoke no English, was declared dead at the scene by an emergency medical team.

The incident is being investigated by police, the airport and the coroner."

Click here to read the article and see the incident on video.  Was this man tasered to death?  The CBC says up to 18 people have been in Canada since 2003.

Desperate Housewives Shut Down for Hollywood Strike
Friday, November 16th, 2007

Desperate Housewives' Eva Longoria delivers pizza to Writers Guild of America strikers last week as Felicity Huffman and William H. Macy take to the picket lines.  PopSugar and BuzzSugar tell is that the show 24 is delayed indefinitely and that there are only two more episodes of The Office before it goes into reruns - already!

Just click here to go read the scoop.

I can't help it, I still don't like Eva Longoria.  1) She wears fur, 2) She spends way too much money on her clothes, 3) She totally robbed the cradle, and 4) She just plain annoys me.

Does It Bother You Where People Scatter Their Ashes?
Friday, November 16th, 2007

Part of the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction at Disneyland.

Workers a Anaheim theme park had an attraction at Disneyland closed down and police alerted after they saw a guest on the "Pirates of the Caribbean" ride sprinkling something strange into the water.

"A witness described the substance as a baby powder that quickly dissipated," a Disneyland resort spokesman said.  "We reopened the attraction after determining that there was no hazard to our guests."

It turns out, that it may not in fact have been baby powder - after all, who sprinkles baby powder off of the side of the Pirates of the Caribbean ride? - but in fact, human ashes.

People scatter their ashes at sea, from the air, at national parks, even on baseball fields, despite laws in many states that forbid it.  It's forbidden at Disneyland, but it's hard to enforce.  The state of California has a law that forbids scattering human ashes even on privately-owned land.

Nancy Grace released from hospital after labor complications
Friday, November 16th, 2007

CNN headline news anchor Nancy Grace checked into the hospital last weekend over complications from giving birth prematurely to her twins, John David and Lucy Elizabeth, on November 4th.  Grace, 48, developed pulmonary edema.  Her husband, David Linch, told People Magazine that she had "a really bad bout of shortness of breath."

Her condition worsened and she was brought back to the hospital.

"I woke up at 5 a.m. and she was sitting at the side of the bed and really having trouble breathing," Linch said.  "We were getting ready to go to church and Nancy asked me to take her to the emergency room instead."

An X-ray and CAT scan revealed small blod clots and fluid in her lungs.  She is now okay, and the twins' condition is steadily improving.  Grace is back at home in Atlanta with her husband, and the twins are still under the doctor's care.

Isn't she a little old to be having babies?  When they're in high school, she'll be 63 years old...we're glad everyone is okay, though.

Support the Veterans Day 18

Hi folks,

The Veterans Day 18 have been arraigned on charges in Boston of disturbing a public assembly, which we did not do. In the description of the charges it is alleged that we were "loudly chanting anti-war slogans" which is absurd since we had gags in our mouths.

I have gotten lots of emails asking how people can help us. At this time the best support you could give us is to write, call, fax, and email the Mayor of Boston, Tom Menino. Or do all four. The thing that is best is regular mail, then calls, then fax, then email. Let's inundate the Mayor's office with outrage at our arrests. Please do this in the next day or so, while the story is hot. And please forward this email to friends and political mailing lists, far and wide. If you live outside Massachusetts please write anyway. This story has gone out worldwide.

Mayor Menino's contact information is given below. And to make it really easy we are including a template of a letter you could write. Feel free to copy and paste it into a Word document and modify it as you see fit, or write your own.

Phone 617.635.4500
Fax 617.635.2851
Email mayor@cityofboston.gov
Address given below in letter

Thanks for taking the time to do this.
