Donny Osmond randomly cries, serenades journalist
He's back and he's creeping me out more than ever!! Donny Osmond is about to turn 50 in December and is having some sort of menopausal madness. He was crying on a chat show earlier this week, and then gave a very strange interview to the U.K.'s Daily Mall. In the interview, he admitted to having had Botox injections, turning to psychotherapy, and then starts serenading the interviewer. "And they call it Puppy Loooove..." he crooned, and then said, "I am fine with Puppy Love. I hated it for a while. But I still sing it. I have a country version, a sexy version and a cheesy nightclub version. I am trying to infuse it with maturity." Or nausea! It works on someone, though, because Donny has five kids. Blech! |

Ed and Elaine Brown arrested in New
Hampshire
Presidential hopeful Ron Paul agrees with the
Browns' plight, and compares them to
Ghandi! The couple that gained fame or infamy (depending on who you ask?) were taken into custody on Thursday night, after a five-month standoff with police and over a decade of refusing to pay their taxes. Authorities say they were taken peacefully from their Plainfield, New Hampshire home, although Brown supporters are asking for "proof of life" and are calling it a kidnapping by the "Feds." The Browns haven't paid taxes since 1996, and were convicted of federal tax charges on January 18th. They were not present in court for their April sentencing, where they were given 63 months (5 1/4 years) federal prison term. They gained media interest and thousands of supporters for their stance that there is no law that makes the average American liable for being taxed on their income. They holed up in their home and refused to surrender, keeping weapons for defense, and getting power from a wind turbine generator and solar panels. They filed 42 motions in Concord, New Hampshire's U.S. District Court, which were all denied. Visitors to the Brown residence were prohibited; a notice was given by the U.S. Marshals Service stating that anyone who entered or remained on the property without their authorization would be criminally prosecuted. A fan/supporter profile on MySpace.com for Ed and Elaine Brown posted this message from Elaine on September 28th: "Ed and I have said 'enough,' and even though we are currently unable to leave our home without risking being unlawfully assaulted by the federalies, we are more free now than we have ever been, as we have boycotted any and all government claims on us. At the same time the government has unlawfully attacked us by terminating our electricity, internet access, television satellite, telephone, and mail (the federal marshalls keep all mail that is sent to us.) The federal marshalls have said they know we have broken no laws, but they will come against us when ordered to." |

Operation Smile's 25th Anniversary Gala, Jessica Simpson shows up,
etc.
Now she's going to make me feel bad about the comments I just made on her nose disappearing . But not too bad, because I don't think she does anything for Operation Smile anymore except show up when there's a gala. Back when she was married to Nick Lachey and debatedly still had a soul, she went to Kenya with Operation Smile, and then she gave some little press op in March of 2006 about going to talk to some Senators about the global mission. After that: nothing. Operation Smile celebrated their 25th anniversary at a Beverly Hills hotel yesterday. Jessica Simpson showed up trying to look classy, and Molly Sims was there somewhere. The nonprofit organization based out of Norfolk, Virginia, Operation Smile, provides medical services such as reconstructive surgery to poor children internationally. Something Jessica should think about contributing to more, instead of buying thousands of dollars of animal fur and antler-horn handbags. And I still say she has a new nose. At least. |

Rapper Lil
Wayne arrested and booked in
Idaho
Rapper/hip-hop star Dwayne Michael Carter., Jr., aka "Lil Wayne," was arrested the morning after a concert yesterday at the Qwest Arena in Boise, Idaho. Lil Wayne, 25, was brought to Ada County jail and booked on a felony fugitive charge stemming from a warrant in Fulton County, Georgia. The Georgia warrant was for felony possession of drugs. The rapper, who MTV labels one of the "Hottest MC's in the Game" recently told MTV, "Don't stop believing in me. They say I'm the Hottest MC in the Game. If you label me that, I will live up to it. Trust me." Not behind bars, you won't! We checked the Georgia Department of Corrections to see if he's been transferred, and their inmate search cracks me up. Warning: Photographs of inmates, if available, are displayed automatically. They need a warning for that? Oh, no, not a photo of a prisoner! It may leap through the screen! It may shock and disturb you! These are not people we're talking about, they're inmates, for goodness sake. Lil Wayne has worked with Kanye West, Ja Rule, Juvenile, and a lot of other rappers. |
