Pennsylvania Primary Results May Take A Week
Or So
Tuesday, April 22nd, 2008

Bah, it's a slooooooow news day. Not too much going on. The
state of Pennsylvania is holding its primary election today. Ballots
are cast in a variety of ways in Pennsylvania and each county selects
their own voting system. It's a closed primary, meaning you must be
a member of a Party to vote for that Party's candidate (whether it be
Democrat, Republican, Independent, Libertarian, Green Party, Constitution
Party, what-have-you).
Some political commentators and journalists
have said that the PA primary may tip the nomination in favor of either
Barack Obama or Hillary Clinton for the
Democratic Party - the AP has called Pennsylvania a "must-win" state for
Clinton; but others say it isn't expected to clarify
anything.
On the Republican side, John McCain was
declared the "presumed" nominee for the GOP in March, but Ron
Paul has been campaigning in the state in recent weeks and looks
to gain delegates in PA, the state where he was
born.
ConnieTalk.com contacted the Pennsylvania Department of
State, who let us know that it will take up to seven days
for provisional ballots to be validated and counted in PA's primary; but
how much do you want to bet that the MSM will have final projections up
before then? In March, you voted, and 90% of you
told ConnieTalk that the media shouldn't be dubbing winners before all of
the votes are in for
primaries.
UPDATE: 4/23/08 As you
probably know, the mainstream media called Hillary Clinton the
projected winner for the Democrats and John McCain the projected winner
for the Republicans. Hillary already gave her victory speech and
Barack congratulated her. We still say that results should not
be announced until all of the votes are in - SHEESH! Stay tuned
for the complete results here in one
week.
