Oprah Winfrey, as I'm sure you know by know, has broken
her own tradition and decided to endorse a presidential candidate in this
election, her first endorsement in a presidential campaign, ever.
She has a "personal belief" in Democratic candidate Barack Obama, and she
told it to at least 23,000 people in Des Moines, Iowa last
week.
Trust me, O, we love Iowa, too! (See our recent article about where you can & cannot
smoke).
In the lengthy speech, Oprah makes sure to let the audience
know that she knows the difference between book clubs and talk show
giveaways, and the importance of America's next President.
"I'm not
here for partisan beliefs. Over the years, I've voted for as many
Republicans as I have Democrats. So this isn't about partisanship
for me, this is very, very personal. I'm here because of my
personal conviction about Barack Obama, and what I know he can do
for America," Oprah said.
Here is the video of O's speech.
Ah well, sorry, O - I believe you're serious about him, but it's too late...I'm
already a Republican delegate for the Ron Paul campaign for this
election. Never thought I'd be a delegate for the Repubs, but I firmly
believe Ron Paul is the only one who can undo the mess Bush and even other
presidents before him did.
To Barack's credit, though, I always thought
he was kind of geeky - but he is sex-ay in this picture with O, isn't he?
She must rub off angel dust on him.
