Barack Obama And The Fam In People Magazine

Barack Obama, his wife Michelle, and their daughters Malia (10) and Sasha (7) are on the cover of the August 4th issue of People Magazine.

Political commentators have speculated that Obama gave his recent Access Hollywood interview to appear to the mainstream, pop-culture-oriented, and perhaps celebrity-obsessed audience; and Barack implied afterwards that he regretted the TV interview, or at least including his two young daughters in it, and that he wouldn't be doing it again.

So it seems like this time the Obama family has found a happy medium by giving People an exclusive, this time all in print. And they come off just as charming as they did on Access.

Obama told People that his wife is the best Hula-Hooper he knows, that his daughters get a $1 per week allowance. A beautifully relaxed black-and-white photo of them lounging - shoes kicked off but in gown and tux - on their wedding day is pictured, which sits on their living room mantel.

This is all very touching, but honestly, he's already charmed the pants off of everybody (calm down, it's an expression) - let's get back to the politics, folks!
