Prop 8 Teeters On Ending Gay Marriage
Wednesday, November 5th, 2008 by Connie T.

Uh-oh. There are going to be some very vocal opponents of Prop 8 that will be upset by this. As of 8:48 AM (EST) this morning,
92.3% of voting results for California are in. A Yes vote would pass the Proposition that would eliminate
the newly-acquired right of same-sex couples to marry: and it is passing by a margin of 3.8% so far. 51.9% of Californians
have voted Yes, and 48.1% voted No.
If Prop 8 does pass, it will change the California Constitution to
take away the ability of homosexual couples to marry, and would provide that only marriage between a man and
a woman is valid or recognized in California. Here's the full text of Prop 8: This initiative measure
is submitted to the people in accordance with the provisions of Article II, Section 8, of the California Constitution.
This initiative measure expressly amends the California Constitution by adding a section thereto; therefore, new provision
proposed to be added are printed in italic type to indicate that they are new.
This measure shall be known
and may be cited as the "California Marriage Protection Act."
Section 7.5 is added to Article I of the California
Constitution, to read:
Only marriage between a man and a woman is valid or recognized in California.
We don't know what to say other than it should be up to the people in each State to decide, and whatever the majority
decides has to be law.
In good FABULOUS news, Prop 2,
crucial for preventing unnecessary suffering of animals and improving the safety of CA's food supply - will pass! With
92.3% reporting, 63.3% voted Yes for Prop 2 and 36.7% voted No.
