Judge Tells Rod Blagojevich No On Costa Rica
Wednesday, April 22nd, 2009 by Connie T.
First the victory for
Arctic wildlife, now this...you People are changing the world all over the place! Last we
posted an article (Why
Do We Give TV Shows to Criminals?) and mentioned that it was up to Judge James B. Zagel
whether or not freshly impeached Former Governor Rod Blagojevich could bend the rules
and fly to Costa Rica to make $80k / week on a celebrity reality show in the midst of
his corruption trial. (We included the Honorable Judge's contact info, of course.)
And it
looks like Blagojevich will have to get a job outside of tropical paradise. Judge Zagel ruled
that Blagojevich's travel restrictions will not be lifted during his corruption and misconduct trial.
I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here will have to go on without him: NBC said
they are "disappointed" but have "no plans to move the show to a location in the United States."
After the
ruling, Rod said, "Obviously I'm very interested in finding a way to earn a living so I can
support my children and our family, and this is just another day in the big city, and you just keep
getting up and moving forward."
Our favorite quote
from Blagojevich outside the courthouse, though, was this: "I know a lot of things about me, and about
how I operate, and I have all kinds of insights that I can provide." We think the psychologists who
pegged him
as a narcissist were completely off.
But seriously, we are always one
to treat our fellow man as we would like to be treated, and we certainly don't want to see him without a
job and the means to support his family. So I have compiled some great references for Rod that
have helped the American people, who can certainly sympathize with the job hunt.
