So, as we told you, Nick Bollea aka Hogan was arrested and booked (finally) by the cops yesterday for criminal charges related to the August 26th crash.

Bollea, 17, will be charged as an adult.  The charges include reckless driving involving serious injury (a third-degree felony carrying a penalty of no more than a $5,000 fine and up to five years in jail), using a motor vehicle in commission of a felony, being under age 21 and operating a vehicle while having a breath-alcohol level of .02 percent or higher (it was .055), and illegal window tint.

He was released to his parents after posting $10,000 bail yesterday.  $10,000?  That's less than the worth of the car he totalled!  I don't have much faith in this judge already.

"Because Nick is still a juvenile and has no prior criminal record, we are disappointed that he is being charged as an adult offender," said the Bollea family's lawyer.  "However, we are confident that the evidence will demonstrate that this was an accident."

Um - the evidence already shows he was negligent and irresponsible, whether it was an accident or not.  And he sure as hell is a repeat offender when it comes to traffic laws and illegal streetracing.
