News Roundup: Other Stuff You
Don't
Want To Miss
Tuesday, March 25th,
2008
The latest media attack on
Hillary Clinton (you knew it was just a matter of time
before the Obama/Rev. Wright incident was counteracted) is over statements
Hillary Clinton made about her 1996 trip to Bosnia, where she claimed
she'd come under sniper fire. "So I made a mistake. That happens. It proves
I'm human, which, you know, for some people, is a revelation." CBS
News claims to have "exposed" this story; although, you know, when a former
First Lady who has traveled all over the world with cameras following
mixes up trips, it isn't exactly a giant revelation, is it?
Wowza. Not enough scandalous Congressmen for
you? Here you go: assisted suicide advocate, convicted felon,
and former Doctor Jack Kevorkian has announced that he is running for U.S. Congress this year. He is 79
years old, has only voted once in his life, and spent over eight years in
prison for second degree murder. "If you want to have 10 pounds of
marijuana in your house, why not?" he says.
An update from
yesterday's News Roundup: Detroit Mayor Kwame
Kilpatrick pleads not guilty to perjury charges;
he and his former chief of staff (whom he's accused of lying under
oath over an affair with) have both proclaimed their innocence and were
released on $75,000 bail each. Here's a question: why do
politicians have so much money to throw around? Public servants, my
arse!
