New Kids On The
Block Reunion Will Look Like This

1986 New Kids On The Block debut
album cover
Apparently we underestimated the interest of fans in a New
Kids On The Block reunion. Since we published our last article about the semi-confirmed (yeah, yeah,
that's an oxymoron) reunion of the band, more than 400 of you voted, and
96% said they are excited about the NKOTB reunion. Then again, it
could have just been a bunch of people searching for NKOTB news...but
interest is interest, no?
In fact, including the gazillions of U.S.
New Kids On The Block fan sites across the net (From NKOTB Fans that's been
around since 1995, to newer reunion gossip blogs like NKOTBlog, whose latest
post "Who Is The Biggest NKOTB Fan?" you need to see!), there
seem to be quite a lot of die-hard fan sites internationally, from
France, to Germany, to Korea, to sites with languages I can't
even decipher.
Here's a little gift from ConnieTalk and Photoshop
of what NKOTB would look like together today if they did indeed make
good on the reunion talk:

BANG Showbiz reported this month that NKOTB is close to completing a
new album after "a series of secret recording sessions" at an Orlando,
Florida studio.
I admit I'm now somewhat looking forward to the
first leaked song - although there may not be a leak, seeing as
how any details of this reunion are under lock and key like
a freaking fortress. It also appears that they have pretty good PR
people this time around. What we really want to know in the
meantime, though are two things:
1) Will Maurice
Starr be involved in this? The last that was heard of
Maurice Starr in the press, he was wandering around Daytona Beach, Florida, looking for "new talents" and
hosting Hollywood Talent Night (which is now defunct). In late summer of 2007, he gave an
interview to Jarrell Mason of WUAG FM and said that he's working with
Big Face, "a young white rapper," and The Heartbeat Boys (who he
subsequently forgot the name of, and then said they can't beat him up for
it because "they're like 10, 12, 13, 14, 15 [years old], so that can't
beat me up too bad").
The New Kids did split with Starr, of
course, back in the 90's, when they shortened their name to NKOTB...but a
reunion sounds like something Starr would try to have his paws all
over.
2) Which member of NKOTB were you in love with?
Take the poll! I confess I was in love with Jordan Knight and was
obsessed with Gummi Bears after reading in Tiger Beat that they
were his favorite snack...
