Criminals With Fear Of Needles Should Avoid Nashville
Wednesday, July 16th, 2008 by Connie T.

The city of Nashville, Tennessee has banned Tasers. But that doesn't make the
consequences for committing a crime any less scary: in fact, the Metro police instead inject
(yes, with a needle) a strong sedative called Midazolam, or Versed, to control hyper street criminals,
according to WSMV.
One man who had gotten injected with the drug after running around with sharp objects in
traffic described the effect as being like "a horse tranquilizer." Versad is a type of anesthesia
that acts as a skeletal muscle relaxant and sedative: though there are no known side effects
besides a "hangover" feeling, an overdose of Midazolam can lead to hypotension, impaired functions, coma,
and even death.
Nashville has been utilizing this practice for about two years.
