Musharraf Cracking Down On Rioters After
Bhutto's Death

After the assassination of Benazir Bhutton in Pakistan this week,
Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf is cracking down on rioters, thieves,
and unrest in the country. Looters "must be dealt with firmly and
all measures be taken to ensure safety and security of the people," he
said. Almost 40 people have died in the violence that has erupted
since the shooting/suicide bomb attack.
He's deployed troops onto
the streets to deal with rioters that interior ministry spokesman Javed
Iqbal Cheema says have destroyed 176 banks, 72 train cars, and 18 railway
stations, as well has busting 100 prisoners from jail.
Bhutto's party disagrees with the Pakistani government's explanation of
her death: a goverment spokeswoman said her head hit her vehicle by
force of the bomb, but Benazir's colleagues said she died from the bullet
wounds.
