Capt. Michael J. Medders of Avon Lake, Ohio died on September 24th in Jisr
Naft, Iraq, from wounds suffered when a suicide bomber detonated a vest during operations. Capt.
Medders was 25 years old.
Michael was assigned to the 2nd Squadron, 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment
out of Fort Hood, Texas.
Medders was engaged to be married. He is survived by his father
Michael, his mother Lynn, his sister Amanda, his fiance Stacy Hrvatin, and his two stepsisters
Carrie and Kathy, along with other extended family. Please keep his family, friends, and fellow
soldiers in your thoughts and prayers during this very difficult time.
