Maine Democratic Party Announces Obama Winner Of
Caucus
Sunday, February 10th,
2008

CNN and other media outlets reported their projected
winners of the Republican Caucuses on February 2nd, with Mitt Romney at
52% (who has since withdrawn), John McCain at 21%, Ron Paul at 19%, and
Mike Huckabee at 6%; however, the Maine GOP has not yet released final
numbers since all delegates' votes haven't been reported, so we still don't know the true
winner of Maine (which is deja vu from Louisiana).
The Maine Democratic
Party, however, released their final results almost immediately, with
Barack Obama winning the most amount of delegates at 2,079, and Hillary
Clinton second with 1,396. 18 delegates were uncommitted, 3 chose
other candidates that were not disclosed, and 5% still have to report, but
will not be able to sway Obama's win.
Why are the GOP state parties
so much slower than the Democrats?
