Madrid train bombings of
2004: First suspect found guilty  Wednesday, October 31st, 2007

CNN is reporting on their homepage that
the first of 28 suspects in the Madrid train bombings of March 11, 2004
has been found guilty of murder and other charges by a Spanish
court.
After three months of deliberations, Chief
Judge Javier Gomez Bermudez will be reading the verdicts and sentences
at around 11:00 AM today, live on Spanish television.
No other details available yet, but there
is a lot of info on the suspects and their trials here. The Madrid
train bombings were a series of coordinated bomb attacks on the commuter
train system of Madrid, Spain. The bombings killed 191 people and
wounded 2,050, making it the deadliest strike on the West since 9/11; it
also occurred 911 days after September 11th, 2001.
