Whatever Happened To Madonna's Mole?

With all the talk about Madonna's face as of late, we got to
thinking: whatever happened to Madge's signature mole? Remember it? It was ever-present
in the 1980's and early 90's, but seemed to disappear before the millennium, somewhere
around Evita.
Wikipedia
states that the mole beneath her right nostril was surgically removed, but doesn't cite a
source. In the above photo - at the 2008 premiere of I Am Because We Are, there seems
to be just a hint of a mark, a scar, perhaps. Or I'm just imagining it.
