Lou Dobbs Stands Up To Bailout
Saturday, October 11th, 2008 by Connie T.

CNN anchor and editorialist Lou Dobbs has been going after the
federal banks & Wall Street bailout with a fervor as of late. First the $850 billion to
bail out Wall Street; then the emergency rate cuts by the Federal Reserve; and now the
Treasury Department is saying it will buy stock directly into unstable financial institutions. And
Dobbs hasn't missed a beat of it.
In a poll of CNN viewers, 83% believe the market
would not have gone down a lot more without the bailout - to which Dobbs remarked, "And I
agree with you." In fact, this week the Dow
has had its third-biggest point drop in history in light of the bailout, as Dobbs'
page so keenly points out.
Also on Dobbs' page is an entire section on contacting your
Senators to tell them how you feel about the bailout; a letter to Congress from renowned economists
strongly opposing the bailout; and the e-mail addresses of top contacts in Washington for sounding
off to.
This is far more than most in our mass media have done to represent the true will of
the people...so go Lou Dobbs!! And with the George W. Bush administration hinting around that the $850+ billion
may not be quite sufficient, this is one page we'll keep a close eye on!
