Former Washington Times Chief Says Knock Off Osama And Obama
Thursday, May 29th, 2008
Out of control! We cannot believe she said this on national television!
Or at all! Former New York bureau chief of the Washington Times, Liz Trotta, is a sometimes
correspondent for FOX News. She recently sat down with a FOX News host for a conversation
about - what else? - Hillary Clinton's remarks about RFK's assassination. In the
context of the subject, Trotta suddenly gave a very strange comment in which she mixed up
Barack Obama and Osama bin Laden, and then slammed them both.
"And now
we have what some are reading as a suggestion that somebody knock off Osama...Obama. Well,
both, if we could."
Yes, she really did say that! Watch.
The next morning, she went on Fox News Monday morning and apologized, saying:
I am so sorry about what happened yesterday. In a lame attempt at humor I really just
fell all over myself in making it appear that I wished Barack Obama harm or any other
candidate, for that matter. I sincerely regret it and apologize to anybody I've offended.
It's a very colorful political season and many of us are making mistakes and saying things
we wish we hadn't said.
We are?
