I Will Never Fall For This Again
Wednesday, August 6th, 2008 by Connie T.

I don't even know why I clicked on this, or whether I actually would have
worn lip sugar...maybe I was hungry. Maybe it looked sparkly - women, raccoons, and crows
cannot resist shiny things. Whatever it was that possessed me, I followed an
ad on a blog for "free samples" of Revlon Sugar Sugar Lip Topping.
Such a terrible mistake.
The resulting page said that I just needed to complete two out of three free offers,
or something like that. Like a dolt, I filled in all of my information and clicked next. Then
I'm told I just have to skip through 10 or so advertisements, and the lip sugar is mine. Fine.
At the end of those ads, the page says that I just need to complete three out of five offers from
their sponsors. What?! All this for a teeny little bottle of sparkles? Eventually I realized
that I was never really going to get that free sugar, and that I'd been duped.
If only
that were the end of the story. We are now assaulted on a daily basis with hundreds of
spam e-mails, ranging from credit card offers to drug rehab info, auto insurance to fake
e-Card messages, home warranties and college scholarships, satellite savings to hardwood floors
and cosmetic surgeons.
So, if I ever don't return your e-mail, try sending it again, because
I'm currently wading through spam hell thanks to a sugar lip topping mirage.
