Why
Must The GOP Join In The Finger Pointing?
Friday, February 22nd, 2008
As you may know, Connie T. is a
national delegate for the Ron Paul campaign. In
doing so, a membership with the Republican National
Committee is a necessary evil companion.
That means we get to receive seemingly endless (okay, a few here and
there, but they still feel endless) e-mails from the National GOP.
Take yesterday's, for example, where Chairman Robert "Mike" Duncan of the
Republican National Committee felt it necessary to hit back at the
already-infamous New York Times article on Senator John McCain.
"Dear Connie, The New York Times
has proven once again that the liberal mainstream media will do whatever
it takes to put Senator Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama in the White
House."
The liberal mainstream media? The liberal
mainstream media? Would this be the same mainstream media that
shows us John McCain's face every chance they get and gives more publicity
to "conservative" McCain than the freedom-fighting Ron Paul and Dennis
Kucinich? Let me pick myself up from the floor.
"From the
beginning of Campaign 2008," Chairman Duncan wrote, "Liberal and media
pundits have fawned over the Democrat presidential candidates while
ignoring their lack of substance on the issues. You can be certain
as the campaign heats up they will continue to mislead voters with their
anti-Republican agenda."
Dear GOP. May I call you pot?
Meet mass media, we like to call them MSM (for mainstream media); they
also go by the name of kettle.
Now, we're not referring to
The New York Times or anyone specifically. We're referring
to media, period (outside of the few exceptions to the rule). From
day one, dearest pot, our kettle has boiled over with images, articles,
and bias - in favor of 4 people.
Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama,
John McCain, and Mitt Romney.
Democratic party aside, the two faces
that you've been happy to report on the most are the most
liberal of all of the Republican candidates that entered the
presidential race, from the very beginning.
McCain and Romney both
supported the notion of staying as long as "need be" in a war
that has little to nothing to do with Americans and everything to do with
turning our federal pockets inside out. While we cut coupons last
year, McCain was riding around on the jets of corporate media moguls. While we were
frowning over the Cost
of War counter, McCain was hob-knobbing with the Kennedy's. Is
this the GOP's definition of conservative?
Pardon our language, but WTF?
Mr. Duncan, you just sent us an
e-mail asking for a donation to the National GOP to "get our responsible
message of lower taxes, a strong national defense, and limited government
past the liberal media filter and directly to the voters."
The New
Hampshire GOP sided with FOX, the allegedly right-wing conservative
empire, to exclude Congressman Ron Paul from their debate.
You didn't stick up for Paul then. You don't now. You never
have. And he's the only real conservative in
this race.
At this point, I would be more likely to go practice
trapeze acts on the electrical cables outside than to "make an urgent
secure online contribution of $1,000, $500, $100, $50, or $25 to help the
RNC."
But thanks for
asking.
