Prevent Another Defense Department Con

Engineer Michael Cantrell and deputy Doug Ennis for the Army Space and Missile
Defense Command headquarters in Hunstville, Alabama, pled guilty to corruption charges in federal court this
year, after admitting they received more than $1.6 million in kickbacks and bribes from contractors to benefit
from government contracts that provided no useful product to taxpayers.
Cantrell admitted he extracted
almost $350 million for projects that the Pentagon didn't authorize. Last month, the New York Times
published a full-length article on the engineer's plot to fund falsified or failed missile defense projects. In
the article, Cantrell is quoted as saying, "We just paid for meaningless work, and there was so little oversight
no one noticed." It's easy, Cantrell said, to corrupt the system.
But Cantrell was caught by the Pentagon previously
and only given verbal warnings, after which he continued his frivolous defense (and taxpayer) spending.

IOUSA has created a petition that
has over 9,000 signatures thus far, letting our elected representatives in Washington know that it's time to
show some leadership and begin to cut the waste within the Defense Department. There's no excuse for the lack
of oversight and the sieve that holds our tax dollars. So get your sign on!
