Will Leno Sink Nightline?

It's not a done deal but we've been hearing talk for quite some time
that Conan O'Brien would be stepping up to fill Jay Leno's shoes in
the near future. But where will Jay go?
It's rumored
that ABC is trying to snag him. If that happens he'd probably go straight into his
regular time slot, head to head with Conan O'Brien. That would also spell the end
for Nightline as we know it. That doesn't mean that ABC would dump the show
altogether. They could always do primetime specials or move Nightline to another
time slot.
But there's no need to worry quite yet. It'll be next year
before any changes will be made and it's rumored that Sony may throw in a wild
card. It's possible that they could offer Jay Leno a deal on their GSN station
that will beat network television's offers by a long shot.
