Lauryn Hill Backs Out Of European Tour

Lauryn Hill is so talented...but off-the-charts talent often comes with turmoil. The R&B singer had a tour scheduled for Europe this summer, including the Stockholm Jazz Festival, but has cancelled the tour dates, citing health reasons.

Hill ducked out of the public eye in 2000, saying fame left her "way too compromised," "uncomfortable," and in emotional crisis. In '07, former Fugees bandmate Pras said of Hill's emotional state, "At this point I really think it will take an act of God to change her, because she is that far out there."

Lauryn has five children with Rohan Marley, son of the late Bob Marley; they never legally married and Rohan remained married to the woman he was with when he and Hill met. Last year, Rohan told press that Lauryn was writing and had material for several albums, jotting down lyrics everywhere from on toilet paper to on the walls. As of late '08 it was reported that Lauryn moved out and in with her mother and children in her hometown in New Jersey.
