Yawn...The Late Night Shows Are Coming Back
Saturday, December 29th, 2007

Yawn...If you haven't heard, the late night shows are coming back.  David Letterman and the Craig Ferguson show are coming back with their full writing staff, after making a deal with the union; they'll be back January 2nd.  Jay Leno, Conan O'Brien, and Jimmy Kimmel will have their shows return January 2nd without writers.

David Letterman said in a statement:

"I am grateful to the WGA for granting us this agreement.  We're happy to be going back to work, and particularly pleased to be doing it with our writers.  This is not a solution to the strike, which unfortunately continues to disrupt the lives of thousands.  But I hope it will be seen as a step in the right direction."

I don't watch the late night shows, but I do support the writers' strike!

 GENERAL PUBLIC

If you'd like to support the WGA members in their fight for a fair contract, here's what you can do:

1)  Send the WGA an e-mail and voice your support. They will post your message here for WGA members to read.

2)  Send letters to the heads of these Companies and urge them to bargain fairly with the Writers Guild.

3) Visit Unitedhollywood.com for more ways to support the writers.

4)  Sign the online petition in support of the WGA strike, which currently has over 63,000 signatures.
