In Memory Of Pfc Kyle Norris And 1st Lt Jeffrey DePrimo
Thursday, June 5th, 2008
We were a little down yesterday and didn't post the Soldier Of The Day,
so today we're posting two US soldiers who gave their lives to the conflict in the Middle East, to remember today.
Pfc.
Kyle P. Norris, 22 years old and from Zanesville, Ohio, died on May 23rd, 2008 in Balad,
Iraq, from wounds suffered when his vehicle encountered an improvised explosive device
during a May 22nd patrol in Jurf as Sakhr, Iraq. He was assigned to the 3rd Battalion,
7th Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division, Fort Stewart, GA.
Kyle liked spending time with his friends, playing video games, playing paint ball, and
being with his girlfriend. His brother said that Norris was due to return home at
the end of July and was planning on proposing to his girlfriend. He was also hoping
to join the Ohio State Highway Patrol after finishing his time in the Army.
1st
Lt. Jeffrey DePrimo of Pittston, Pennsylvania, died on May 20th in Ghazni, Afghanistan, from
wounds suffered when his vehicle encountered an improvised explosive device (IED). He
was assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 103rd Armor Regiment, Pennsylvania Army National
Guard, Williamsport, PA.
Jeffrey was a musician that loved classical guitar
instruments and soccer. He attended Catholic school, and after graduating form Officer
Candidate School was among the first to volunteer for the mission to Afghanistan. There
are articles on Jeffrey's life and death at Citizen's
Voice.
Please keep these men and their families in your thoughts and prayers
today.
