Childhood Hunger In The US On The Rise
Friday, November 21st, 2008 by Connie T.

The Agriculture Department reported this week that nearly 700,000 children went hungry in
the United States last year. This number is up more than 50% since 2006, yet is likely going to be lower
than this year's figures, due to 2008's economic decline.
It's the largest number of children that
have struggled with hunger in the US since 1998. Including adults, the number is about 36.2 million.
Ninety-three
percent of those surveyed reported eating less than they needed because they didn't have enough money
for food.
